Communication

Is it possible to encourage communication?

This is a question our group faces now. We have discussed this over and over.

maybe... :

Ask an interesting question - people will answer.

Give a topic for discussion - people will discuss.

Make an outrageous claim - people will debate.

Ask for feedback - people will comment.

Give a platform - people will speak out. (will they?)

Have a known professional write a blog - people will comment.

Have a common goal, a school project, a course - people will interact.

A lot of ways to encourage communication has been discussed in our group. One thing seems to be evident - communication can be encouraged only to a certain point; it has to come from the "communicators", not from an outside source.

Who speaks, sows; Who listens, reaps. Argentine proverb.

I would suggest that we will decide quite soon what we are going to do and try to test it out. What if we would open up our forum and start discussions about these ideas and maybe already invite some of the test group to this forum? That way we could try to feel out what people would use?
